Overview of Industrial Security
Industrial security science refers to the interdisciplinary academic field focusing upon protection of industrial assets and loss prevention. The assets, the target for industrial security, include technology, personnel, equipment, information, etc., compared to information security which concentrates on IT asset. Industrial security also includes various activities to protect industrial assets from diverse sources of attacks and infringements. The department of industrial security provides a curriculum which relates to the protection of National Critical Infrastructure (electric facilities, airport, broadcasting and telecommunication facilities, etc.), cutting-edge industrial technology, and important business assets(patents, trade secrets, design drawings, etc.), while aiming to train creative convergence security leaders. ¡Ø "Among the boom businesses of the decades ahead, espionage will be one of the biggest. Spies are not only here to stay, we are about to see them industrialized," - American writer and futurist Alvin Toffler.
