Course Descriptions

Introduction to Industrial Security

Reviews the various disciplines that make up industrial security, including law, criminology, business administration, and IT, and explores foundational theoretical approaches in computer science and industrial security.

Business Management and Security

Covers the fundamentals of business, organizational management, and digital transformation from the perspective that security issues arise within business environments. Addresses the connections between business functions and security issues, including personal information law in global markets, ethics and privacy, OT security, cybersecurity, and asset management.

Introduction to Computer Systems

Provides a systematic introduction to the principles and core concepts of computer systems, building an understanding of structured programming through data abstraction, algorithm design, and performance analysis.

Computer Networks

Examines the principles and architecture of computer networks through a top-down approach, covering how the Internet and major network applications work along with basic security concepts, providing the foundation needed to build secure networks.

Computer Programming

Builds the programming skills essential in an era of IT convergence, systematically covering fundamental programming concepts in C, including data types, input and output, operators, control flow, arrays, functions, strings, pointers, and structures.

Introduction to Law

Covers the concept, purpose, and classification of crime and builds a broad understanding of key legal concepts in criminal, civil, and international law. Case analysis develops legal reasoning and critical awareness of major crime and safety issues.

Smart Management Information Systems

Examines the concept and evolution of management information systems (MIS) and the impact of data, cloud, AI, and automation on business management and MIS in the course of digital transformation, along with their relationship to security and methods for effective system operation.

Industrial Security Psychology

Analyzes the factors in human behavior considered to trigger criminal conduct related to industrial security, and examines the processes through which those factors lead to harmful behavior.

Industrial Security Crime

Covers the industrial security processes required to prevent unlawful acts such as asset loss, together with the relevant criminological theories.

Industrial Security Management

Builds an understanding of the management activities and controls needed to establish and maintain an enterprise-wide security management system, and covers recent trends and key issues in related international standards and management system certification.

Personal Information Use and Protection

Covers the Personal Information Protection Act and related frameworks, and examines risk factors and countermeasures through analysis of personal data breach cases.

Cybersecurity

Covers core topics across information and cybersecurity, including cryptography, security management, networks, databases, web hacking, servers and systems, and applications.

Security Communication

Builds on communication theory to explain the principles and structure of risk-based security communication, and covers techniques and cases for applying interpersonal communication from a security manager's perspective as well as technical communication centered on security systems.

Data Structures

Develops the ability to understand and apply the fundamental data structures that underpin efficient programming.

Cyber Criminal Law

Addresses the range of cybercrimes and security problems arising from the growth of mobile and Internet technologies, examining their causes and countermeasures and developing practical capabilities for cybercrime prevention.

Security Statistics

Focuses on statistics, one of the three pillars of data analysis alongside computing and domain knowledge. Covers descriptive statistics, data distributions, statistical testing, and regression analysis in Python, and develops the ability to apply them to data analysis in security, such as industry status assessment and anomaly detection.

Security Data Analytics

Covers machine learning theory and practice for the era of big data. Key techniques such as classification, regression, random forests, gradient boosting, clustering, and anomaly detection (Isolation Forest) are studied using scikit-learn in Python and applied to security problems such as anomaly detection.

Industrial Security Law

Covers key statutes and policies required for legal compliance in planning, implementing, and operating industrial security, including the Act on Prevention of Divulgence and Protection of Industrial Technology, trade secret protection law, and the Information and Communications Network Act.

Technology Management and Protection

Uses risk analysis by industry sector to examine architectural cases and implementation methods that ensure consistency in information security measures and manage target security levels.

Internal Control and Risk Management

Develops the ability to review an organization's information technology and business systems against internationally recognized standards and guidelines, in order to provide assurance that they are properly controlled, monitored, and evaluated.

Operating System Security

Covers the fundamental issues of secure software development at the development stage, in order to prevent security incidents caused by software vulnerabilities.

Security Systems Operation and Application

Surveys the security systems required in different fields at industrial sites where diverse information systems operate, and covers how each system is operated and applied.

Artificial Intelligence and Security Technologies

Covers the foundational concepts of linear algebra and machine learning in an integrated way, building the basis for artificial intelligence and data science.

Big Data Platforms and Security

Covers the basic principles of data mining and distributed processing algorithms for big data analysis, along with major platforms and techniques including distributed storage, NoSQL, MapReduce, Hadoop, and Spark.

Cybersecurity Incident Response

Examines detailed attack techniques used in Internet and web security incidents, and covers professional practice in vulnerability assessment, penetration testing, and red teaming, along with secure coding techniques that address identified vulnerabilities.

Industrial Security Investigation and Forensics

Covers digital forensics techniques for examining data left on digital devices after a security incident at an industrial site, in order to recover evidence and reconstruct the event.

Industrial Security Consulting

Integrates theoretical knowledge with practical skills for solving complex security problems in industrial environments, and covers how to interpret, analyze, and communicate security data effectively using a range of visualization tools and techniques.

Industrial Terrorism and Critical Infrastructure Protection

Builds systematic response strategies for protecting industrial facilities, grounded in an understanding of terrorism risk cases and relevant laws and guidelines such as counter-terrorism legislation. Case studies are used to analyze the impact of terrorist threats and to establish and apply effective protective measures within legal and institutional frameworks.

Cyber-Physical Systems Security

Covers the concepts and theories underlying the safety and security of cyber-physical systems (CPS), which interact with the physical environment, such as autonomous vehicles, unmanned aerial vehicles, and surgical robots.

Physical Security

An introduction to physical security as a field of industrial security, defined as the effort to control physical vulnerabilities in order to deliberately protect people, information, and property.

Industrial Convergence Security I & II (Capstone)

Covers countermeasures against the vulnerabilities and threats of emerging IT services such as IoT and mobile that are being adopted as new environments in industry.

Industry-Academia Security Project

Examines the basic theories and methods of security management and covers techniques associated with the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Future Convergence Security and Services (Capstone)

Introduces the basic concepts of database systems with an emphasis on the design, implementation, and management of relational databases, covering data modeling, relational algebra, SQL, normalization, indexing, transactions, and an introduction to NoSQL systems.

Storage Systems and Security

Covers a range of storage systems and security technologies, focusing on the structure and characteristics of non-volatile memory (NVM). Topics include the operating principles of NAND flash and SSDs, key-value stores and LSM tree structures, and the outlook for next-generation memory technologies such as 3D XPoint.

Copyright, Trademark, and Design Law

Focuses on copyright law, trademark law, design protection law, and unfair competition prevention law, combining systematic study of legal theory with analysis of actual court decisions and cases.

Blockchain Technology and Services

Covers tracing and analysis techniques for blockchain and virtual assets, building an understanding of transaction transparency and anonymity through hands-on tracing practice and strengthening professional skills through real case analysis using the Reactor tool.

Safe Artificial Intelligence

Covers the core concepts of safe and ethical artificial intelligence, together with strategies and applied skills for designing secure systems.

Cryptography and Authentication

Covers cryptographic algorithms as a foundational theory, including the concept and history of cryptography, together with the security authentication technologies used in everyday life and the broader theoretical and practical knowledge of modern cryptography and authentication.

Hacking and Malware Analysis

Examines the detailed techniques used by real attackers, covering adversary simulation and penetration testing in professional practice, the technical procedures involved, and the concepts behind evading defensive measures.

Emerging ICT Environments and Cybersecurity Technologies

Addresses emerging computing environments and their security implications with a focus on cloud computing, covering cloud service models, virtualization, infrastructure architecture, and data storage, along with the basic concepts of core security technologies such as access management, network security, and encryption.

Personal Information Protection Management, Law and Policy

Covers the management, law, and policy of personal information protection through a systematic understanding of the Personal Information Protection Act as the general law in this area, together with analysis of application cases and recent trends.

Digital Finance Industry and Security

Covers the characteristics of the digital finance industry and its sector-specific compliance requirements, along with IT security at financial institutions, including information systems, information security frameworks, security infrastructure, and security systems.

Digital Transformation and Service Security

Covers the concept and core technologies of digital transformation, along with application cases in the financial industry and approaches to managing security risk.

Technologies for Safe Data Utilization

Covers the concepts, principles, laws and policies, privacy-enhancing technologies, and personal data management technologies needed to enable safe data utilization while protecting personal information.
